Trip to Algonquin 2018

Summer was almost over, but over the Labour Day weekend, my family and I went on a one day trip to Algonquin Provincial Park. 

When we first woke up, it was a bit cloudy in our city, but we packed the car and drove 3 hours to Algonquin. That day, we planned that we were going to hike a trail and also go canoeing. We had been to Algonquin many times in the past so we were very familiar with everything. When we arrived at the visitor centre, the day was a beautiful blue day with sun shining down.

We then decided to go hike a trail called the "Whiskey Rapids Trail". It was a nice, two kilometre trail, with a river flowing alongside it. On the trail, there were bridges, section on hills, sections in mini-forests, paths beside the river, and muddy spots too. It was a really great hike!

After about two hours, we went off to go canoeing. We were canoeing at a lake called "Canoe Lake" this time. At the boathouse, we rented a three seat canoe, three paddles, and three life jackets. We left the port and rowed around looking at stuff. the water was cold and when we dipped our hands in, it was very refreshing after rowing. We got a bit tired, so we went to shore and ate some snacks on our canoe. We ate some chips, fruit, and fish sticks or something. Everyone was ready to go again, however the wind started to pick up and we had trouble rowing to the other side of Canoe Lake. The waves were bumpy but I guess that just adds more fun to the trip! We rowed for a total of two and a half hours, so we went back to the port and went to the restaurant to eat.

The restaurant was very nice, and the food there was yummy too. At the table, we had a gorgeous view of the port below, (we were on the second floor) and we could see people departing and coming back. When our food was served, I had pulled pork poutine with salad and mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was my favourite because I would imagine it coming out of Mooshrooms,, like in Minecraft. (I don't know why) We finished our meals and got ready to go back home. It was already like 7 pm! 

On the way back home, it was thunder storming, so I basically slept the whole time. When we got home, I was so tired that I immediately fell asleep. The End.
